It's a classic example of Toulousian technology. Offering better control, better reliability, simpler adjustments, the BOS Idylle wins in every department.
It's no wonder that Mitsubishi WRC used BOS suspension so successfully for so long and are still regarded as leaders in rally suspension. Always prepared to learn from various disciplines the BOS/Mitsubishi connection continues. Roger Estrada, once chief engineer to the likes of rally ace Tommi Makinen, now imports the amazing bicycle dampers into the UK. It's about time.
But whilst it's reassuring to know of such backgrounds this alone will not sell products. BOS had to get this right. And they have. True there is not a gigantic difference between BOS and any other suspension manufacturer in performance terms, but nevertheless you can draw a very clear distinction between BOS and the rest of the fork gang. Swapping between BOS and any other of the main suspension makers on the same bike, on the same track, will reveal this disparity. It's all about control. There is a difference and it matters.
